Richard "Woody" Dale Wood

Richard Dale Wood “Woody” was born on September 11, 1934 in Ohio and passed Saturday September 30, 2023 at 89 years old in Layton, Utah

Woody was a proud Veteran who served over 25 years in US Air Force and retired in 1979 as a SMSG. He was a Shriner & also a part of the VFW.

At home we called him “Papa” and he loved his family very much. He spent his retired life traveling the US with his wife, Janet and grandchildren. He was an avid softball player, loved golf and The World of Outlaw Racing.

He is survived by his daughters Tammy Wood and Becky Hare who took incredible care of him towards the end of his life, his son David Murphy, five grandchildren Randi Henderson, Terri Lindquist (Chaz Lindquist), Chrisopher Murphy, Megan Murphy and Michelle Murphy, and four great grandchildren Jaydan, Kaydance, Izzie & Oliver. He is proceeded in death by his wife Janet Wood, parents Wilbur and Pauline Wood, his sisters Dottie, Babe, Louis and brother Bob.

 Services will be held Friday October 13, 2023 at 2:00 p.m.  at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Rd. Layton, Utah
