Listen to Obituary

Richard (Rick) Allen Vogeler, 61, passed away unexpectedly on September 16, 2025. He was born in Salt Lake City on November 4, 1963, to David Howard Vogeler and Penny Lees Vogeler.

Rick graduated from Taylorsville High School in 1982, then worked at McDonnell Douglas as a Team Lead Airframe Mechanic for several years. His subsequent career paths ultimately led him to “Mine and Mill Engineering,” and then onto “Precision Systems Engineering,” where he excelled at complex 3D design graphics. Rick was always quick to share his many skills with family and friends – he was our go-to mechanic and jack of all trades!

Rick will be remembered as a soft-hearted, kind man full of energy, passion, and love for life. He found joy in the roar of dirt bikes and cars of every kind, and in cheering for his favorite football teams, the New England Patriots and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. A collector at heart, Rick cherished the memorabilia tied to his interests, each piece holding a story he loved to share. Above all, his greatest pride and joy came from spending time with his girls, creating memories together through adventures big and small. Bear Lake held a special place in his heart, where he found peace, laughter, and happiness surrounded by nature and the people he loved most. His energy, laughter, and love for life will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Rick is survived by his wife, Michele Rahn Vogeler, and his six daughters: Mallorie (Julian) Vogeler, Brittney Vogeler, Tiffany (Spencer) Vogeler, Taylor Vogeler, Brooklyn Vogeler and Kaitlyn Vogeler. He also leaves behind four granddaughters—Elle, Aaliyah, Lauren, and Harper—as well as his sisters, Tami (Brett) Sorensen and Jill (the late Al Simonich) Vogeler. Rick will be deeply missed by his extended family and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents and grandparents.

A celebration of life will be held on October 26th from 2–4 p.m. at the Draper Day Barn, 1166 E. Pioneer Road, Draper, Utah. All who knew and loved him are welcome.
