Richard William Jones II

Richard William Jones II, passed away in Layton of a heart attack while doing his favorite activity yard work, on the 12th of May 2026. Rick was born on August 6, 1954, to parents Richard W Jones and Mary Louise Harrison in Syracuse, New York.

Rick attended Clearfield High School and joined the army after graduation, where he served during the Vietnam era. Rick worked at Utility Trailer for 30+ years. He married Kiyo Koyen, on May 5, 2005. He loved working in his yard and spending time with his family on Sunday having coffee.

Rick is survived by his wife Kiyo J. Koyen, daughters Tonya L. Smith, Jamie M. Reid, and his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and by his niece and nephews.

Rick is proceeded in death by both of his parents. His son Chad Covington and E. Alan Koyen, and his siblings David H. Jones and Della Jones-Barfuss.

The funeral will be held on May 28, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Syracuse cemetery. 1250 South 1000 West Syracuse, Utah. There will be a celebration of life at his home, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Please call 801-512-6002 for the address.
