Reta Rock RIVERDALE - Reta Rock, 84, died peacefully at her home in Riverdale surrounded by her family on Wednesday, May 6, 2009. Mom was born at her home in Devils Slide on March 22, 1925 a daughter of Orson and Atha Ashton Robinson. Mom was raised in Morgan County with her two brothers, Pete, Lewis and her sister, Idella. She lived in Devils Slide until her marriage. Mom met and later married the love of her life, our Dad, Sherman Phillips Rock on October 4, 1940 in Malad, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They moved to South Ogden where they raised their family. Daddy died January 29, 1990. Mom was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she held various callings. Mom and Dad faithfully served three church missions. Mom worked at McKay-Dee Hospital for many years. Mom loved to crochet, bake and decorate her home for any occasion. Mom and Dad loved to travel on their various bus tours. Mom also loved to shop. Surviving are three sons and six daughters, Terry Rock, Craig Rock, Kevin (Kathy) Rock, Carolynn (Paul) Nelson, Beverly Petersen, Barbara (Frank) Moreno, Saundra Rock, Shaunna Mikesell, Debra (Michael) Mosher, 40 grandchildren, 66 great-grandchildren, with one on the way, and five great-great-grandchildren. Mom was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter Geroldine, her parents, two brothers, one sister, and four grandsons, Danny, David, Tracey and Landon. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may call at the mortuary on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Missionary Fund.
