Renzo “Tommy” Tomaselli
Our loving father and grandfather, Renzo Tomaselli, 86, of Arcadia, Wisconsin formerly of Ogden, Utah was called home to his loving Heavenly Father December 26, 2011 at his home in Arcadia.
Renzo was born on August 18, 1925 in Superior, Wyoming to Chiliano and Maria Valandro Tomaselli. Prior to moving to Ogden he lived in Montello, Nevada.
Renzo married Phyllis Fronk Burroughs in November of 1953, embracing her son Mickey as his own.
He served his country faithfully during WWII enlisting in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged shortly after the end of the war.
He was an engineer for the Southern Pacific Railroad for many years and retired in 1985. His greatest joy was taking road trips across the country with his wife and spending quality time with his grandchildren. He made many caring friendships while working at Macey’s Grocery store at 36th and Washington Blvd. for many years.
Renzo was a High Priest in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where he held many positions. His most memorable being a patron at the Ogden LDS Temple and most recently the Sunday School President of the Winona, Minnesota Branch.
He is survived by his stepson, Mick (Bernice) Burroughs; 8 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great grandchildren.
Renzo was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and his brother, Bruno.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 5, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit family Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
He will be missed by all. You will be forever in our hearts and greatly missed until we meet again. We love you, Gramps.
