Renee Alene Jackson Squire

December 20, 1939 — February 22, 2023

 

Alene “Renee” (Jackson) Squire passed away peacefully surrounded by family after a short illness on February 22, 2023. She was born December 20, 1939 to Horace (Hod) and Alene (Hardman) Jackson.

 

Renee married Lyle Squire on November 21, 1959 in Salt Lake City, Utah. They had four children Kent “Red Dog” Squire, Kaylynn (Jerry) Todd, Brenda (Gary) Fraga, and Heidi (Dan) Young.

 

Renee attended Cyprus High School where she was on the synchronized swimming team. She was employed for 17 years at Vae View Elementary in the cafeteria, and 5 years in the Bountiful Temple clothing department.

 

Renee loved to sew and made numerous Halloween costumes, wedding dresses, baby burp cloths, and did alternations for many. She loved to garden and was especially fond of her flowers. She ministered and gave service to anyone in need.

 

Renee is survived by her 4 children, 20 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and sister Dona Dickinson.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, sister and three grandsons.

 

The family would like to express a special thanks to Allison Anderson for her compassionate care and Aspire Home Health and Hospice for their expedient service.

 

Per Renee’s request there will be a visitation for family and friends Friday March 3, 2023 from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary 1867 No. Fairfield Road Layton, Utah 84041, followed by a grave dedication at 3:00 p.m.
