Reed B Hancock

Our loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, Reed B Hancock, 91, passed away surrounded by family on the evening of Wednesday, May 13, 2026. Reed was born on August 24, 1934, in Ogden, Utah, the 5th child of Heber John and Laura May Blanch Hancock. He grew up on the family farm in West Weber, Utah, where he resided all of his life. Reed graduated from Weber High School Class of 1952

Reed met Mary Lou Garner in high school and they were married in the Salt Lake Temple on February 27, 1953. They lived in West Weber, Utah, where they raised their family.

Reed was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in all of the callings he was asked to fulfill.

He spent many summers horse-packing into the head waters of the Yellowstone River with his friends.

He owned an Allstate Agency for 35 years and made many friends.

Reed is survived by his loving wife, Mary Lou; children, Douglas R. (Susan) Hancock, Carol Hancock, Jana (Lynn) Schultz, Aaron H (Kathy) Hancock, Christine (Mauro) Lobato, and Angie (David) Jeffs; 35 grandchildren and 67 great-grandchildren; and brother, Terry (Ronda) Hancock. He was preceded in death by his sons, Chad and Brad Hancock; parents; brothers, Max, Gene, and Val Hancock; and sister, Ruth Goodfellow.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, West Weber Cemetery.
