Reed Hadley Fowers

July 9, 1947 — November 15, 2022

Reed Hadley Fowers, 75, returned home to his Heavenly Father, on November 15, 2022, after suffering from a stroke earlier this summer. Born in Ogden, Utah July 9, 1947, to loving parents Allene and Lynn Fowers. He spent his youth in Washington Terrace, Utah riding his motorcycle through the local high school hallways and playing practical jokes whenever possible. Reed was a very gifted guitarist and competed in several competitions.

Reed served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in the Eastern Atlantic States Mission. He served faithfully despite the loss of his father and a car accident that hospitalized him for a year.

Reed married the love of his life, Julie Rose Fowers, on June 9, 1970, in the Logan Temple. Three days after their marriage, Reed and Julie moved to Anchorage, Alaska. While they loved their time in Alaska, they chose to return to Utah to raise a family. They relocated back to Ogden and were blessed with four daughters. He was so proud of them and his sons-in-law. He especially loved his grandchildren.

Reed had an incredible work ethic and was very mechanically inclined. He was a Master Electrician and worked for Kimberly Clark Corporation for the majority of his career. He was known to work sunup to sun down in any climate to get the job done. He held various church callings and had a very deep and close relationship with his Savior. Reed selflessly served anyone in need and spent the later part of his life in constant service of others. He could usually be found working on a project, driving his tractor, and working in his or any neighbors’ fields. He was always happy to help others in any way he could.

Reed loved the outdoors. He enjoyed many types of recreation from fishing, hunting, horseback riding, boating, and driving his RZR off road.  He loved his horses and all things cowboy related. He was a member of the Weber County Sheriff's mounted posse and participated in several rescues.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Allene and Lynn Fowers; beloved wife, Julie Rose Fowers and is survived by his sister, Lynene Walkenhorst Petersen; daughters, Susie, (Scott) Phillps, Lori (Cary) Jenkins, Karen (Michael) Cozart and Stacie (Ryan) Rigby and 10 beautiful grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Till we meet again.
