Rebecca (Wardle) Sandberg

Rebecca (Becky) Wardle Sandberg died Sunday morning, June 9, 2024, in her home in Farmington, Utah after a long and brave fight against metastatic breast cancer.  She was 69 years of age.  Becky was born on October 6, 1954 to Mary Ann Wyatt Wardle and Jay Don Wardle of North Ogden, Utah.

While working at McKay-Dee Hospital as charge nurse Becky met an appendectomy patient, Jerry Lynn Sandberg.  They dated for six months and then were sealed for time and eternity in the Ogden LDS Temple on November 19, 1976.

Becky graduated from Brigham Young University with her 2-year RN degree, later earning her bachelor's degree of science in nursing (BSN) and later still a master’s degree of science in nursing (MSN).  She was an amazing family practice nurse practitioner (FNPC) at Cope Family Medicine and truly loved caring for her patients and was, in return, truly appreciated by them.

Becky and Jerry have lived in Ogden, Utah; Flagstaff, Arizona; North Salt Lake, Bountiful, and Farmington, Utah.

Her hobbies were taking care of family, her new home, beautifully playing her organ and piano, going on ATV trips, cooking with the grandkids, shopping, traveling, fantasy football (because her sons were playing “Red Flag” forever on the watchtower), going to the cabin, and performing minor surgery on “owies” on the kitchen table, etc...  

She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many different capacities including many music positions, ward Young Women’s President and Stake Primary President.  She served everyone.  She was compassionate and caring, putting herself last in service to others.  

She is survived by her husband, Jerry; children William (Emily) Sandberg, Mandy (Chad) Fitzgerald, Jennifer (Darren) Groberg, and Landon (Lexie) Sandberg; grandchildren Baron, Julia, Ezra, and Lena Sandberg, Luke and Dane Lowry; Adlen, Grant, Asher, Beck, and Vie Groberg; and Ames, Soren, and Ira Sandberg.  She is also survived by her siblings Lisa Leigh, Natalie White, Peggy Creager, and Matt Wardle.

A viewing in her honor will be held Thursday, June 13, 2024, 6-8pm at Lindquist Mortuary 727 N 400 E Bountiful, Utah, 84010.  Services will be held Friday, June 14, 2024 at the Farmington 9th Ward Chapel 695 S 200 E Farmington, Utah with a brief viewing held 9:30-10:30am and funeral services beginning at 11am.  Interment will be at the Farmington City Cemetery, 500 S 200 E Farmington, Utah, 84025.  

We especially appreciate the care and love given to her by Dr. Wayne Ormsby, Michell Thomas N.P., and Dr. Alex Nelson.

She is sorely missed.  True love never dies.  I am so grateful I have her forever.
