Raymond J. Stack, a cherished father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2025, in Layton, Utah. He was born on May 11, 1934, in San Diego, California, to Michael John Stack and Edna Marie Brady Stack.
Raymond devoted a significant part of his life to serving his country. He served three tours in the Vietnam War while serving 22 years in the United States Air Force from1951 to 1972 retiring as a Staff Sgt. His commitment and dedication to his service were exemplary, and he spent many years in civilian hospitality and food service at Hill Air Force Base where he continued to serve those around him with dignity and respect.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Raymond enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, finding joy in "Honky Tonking," which exemplified his vibrant spirit and love for music. Ray also loved his annual 2 month visit to Mazatlan, Mexico and other adventures with the Love of his life Barbara.
Raymond leaves behind his beloved family, including his son, Michael Stack of Long Beach, California, and his daughters, Shirley Harris of Holton, Michigan, and Bonnie Moon Williams of Farmington, Utah. He was a proud grandfather to three grandchildren and a great-grandfather to five great-grandchildren, all of whom he adored deeply.
His life was a testament to love, service, and dedication, and he will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
The family would like to thank the staff at Sunridge and Symbii Hospice for their generous care of Raymond.
A Graveside service will be held at a later date.
