Ralph Cragun

1939 ~ 2019

Ralph Cragun 80, dad, brother, grandpa, great-grandpa, and great-great-grandpa returned to our Heavenly Father on November 21, 2019 in a local care facility in Ogden, Utah from extended medical conditions, with family by his side.

Ralph is survived by two children Dee Cragun and Bambi Cragun; eight grandchildren, Shayne (Tina), Cody (Kim), Wyatt (Jamie), Kelly (Casey) Randall, Ty (Andy), Trisha (Jesse), Amanda (Jed), and Braden; 18 great-grandchildren, (oldest to youngest) McKenzie, Dakota, Kamie, Aaliyah, Elijah, Oliva, Sammi, Alissa, Kaysten, Adrian, Teage, Cooper, Averi, Tanner, Kayston, Easton, Thaddeus, and Ariella; one great-great-grandchild and two on the way; two brothers, Willard (Trudy) and Lee (Lynette). He was preceded in death by his parents, Willard Enoch Cragun and Anne Kell and stepmother, Grace; one brother, Jack; three sisters, Marge, Bonnie, and Ellen; and son, Christopher (Kristen) Cragun.

Ralph was born April 18, 1939 in Ogden, Utah where he had spent his entire life. He loved to go hunting with friends and family (the man in the pointy orange hat three canyon’s over, and the first to a downed deer where ever it was). He played softball for several years, you would remember him as the shortstop with the crazy flat glove that made you wonder how he ever caught anything hit or thrown to him. And was the short little bull legged guy on the basketball court. And he was good at all the above.

He retired from the Ogden Police Department, where he had worked in several different units during his 30 years from December 23, 1962 to January 31, 1999. He made several friends during that time.

He will be missed by many, and live on through the many good times people had with him, so much so that they will share with others.

Friends may visit with family on Sunday, November 24, 2019 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
