Prudence C Rakosky

Our loving mother, mama, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away April 20, 2023 in Arlington, Washington. Prudence, mama, was born October 3, 1927 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Gregorio and Maria Cordova.

Mama had spent time volunteering in hospitals and nursing homes. Before moving to Washington State, mama was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in South Ogden. She and her husband, Frederick were members of the Good Samaritans.

Mama enjoyed camping, fishing, playing bingo and gardening. She was also an avid golfer and often sat by the hour reading a book or crocheting. Mama was retired from Civil Service with the Department of the Air Force at Hill Air Force Base in Layton, UT.

Mama is survived by her daughter, Sylvia T. (Gerry) Scott; son, David P. (Lorrie) Rakosky; step-son, Pat (Claudia) Ross; granddaughter, Kaylene (Ryan) Sandall; grandsons, Casey and Taylor Ryles; and five great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Frederick S. Rakosky; sisters, Vina O’Conn and Gloria Martinez; and grandson, Jason M. Scott.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1100 E. 5550 S., South Ogden. Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd.
