Paul John Moss, age 94, passed away peacefully and returned to his Heavenly Father on May 6, 2025. Born June 24, 1930, in Ogden, Utah and was raised in West Point, Utah. Paul was the oldest son of John (Jack) Alford Moss and Virginia Pearl Fisher Moss. He was a beloved older brother to Steve and Jackie, growing up in a close-knit and loving family.
Paul met the love of his life, Sara Joan Kneedy, at Davis High School in Band class. Their romance blossomed through letters during his Air Force basic training in Texas, where he proposed to her by mail. After returning home, they were married 5 days later, on December 20, 1951, in the Idaho Falls Temple. Then began the next 71 years together filled with devotion, resilience, and deep love.
Paul served honorably for 20 years as a Pilot in the United States Air Force, a reflection of his enduring commitment to his country and strong personal discipline. After retiring from the Air Force, Paul began a second career at Hill Air Force Base in Base Operations Air Traffic Control. Beyond his military service, he was known for his joy in simple pleasures: tending to his garden, buying new cars, watching classic westerns, and talking about the planes he flew. Paul got to fly all around the world and see so many incredible places from Alaska to Spain, where they lived for a few years, as well as Okinawa Japan and Tacoma, Washington. Even after visiting all those places, he said the best place in the world is right here in Kaysville.
Together, Paul and Sara Jo raised three daughters. He will be leaving behind two daughters Anita and Denise (Kyle Clegg). He was a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, his sweetheart Sara Jo, his younger sister Jackie, his daughter Leigh Ann and his son-in-law Chuck. His family was his greatest treasure. His legacy of love, steadiness, and kindness will live on through them.
Paul was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and loved the Gospel and his Heavenly Father so much. Paul will be remembered for his quiet strength, generous spirit, and unwavering devotion to his family, faith and country.
