Paul Willard Jacobson passed away on July 17, 2025. He was born on September 27, 1938, in Copperton, Utah, the son of Richard G. Jacobson and Alice M. Loader.
Paul attended grade school and junior high in Union and graduated from Jordan High School in 1956. He later graduated from the University of Utah in 1963 with a degree in accounting. He married Lily Vance of Alpine, Utah, on June 30, 1961, in the Salt Lake Temple.
He is survived by his wife and sons: Lee (Julie), Harrisville, Utah; David (Sharon), South Portland, Maine; and Steven (Brenda), Clearfield, Utah. He will be missed by his grandchildren: Tammy Moore (Rick), Van and Brent (Summer), Harrisville, and Kaila Silcox (Justin), Layton, Utah, as well as his great-grandchildren: Alirah Silcox, Rial Moore, Colter Moore, and Nigel Silcox. He is also survived by his sister, Ginger Menelle, Riverton, Utah, and his brother, Richard S. Jacobson, Mesa, Arizona.
Paul was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving as Bishop of the Midvale East 5th Ward and in the bishopric of the Rock Creek Ward. He enjoyed serving on the High Councils of the Midvale Utah East and Moses Lake Washington Stakes and in many teaching positions. He also served as ward and stake financial clerk, as well as a Temple and Family History consultant. Paul served a full-time mission together with his sweetheart in the Family History Library.
Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 22, 2025. Memorial services will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the Rock Creek Chapel, 3267 West 700 South. The burial will take place at Syracuse City Cemetery, 1030 West 1290 South, Syracuse, UT.
