Paul Dickson Huffaker

May 19, 1949 — October 17, 2023

Paul Huffaker, 74, of Ogden, UT, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2023. Paul was born to David and Edna Huffaker in Ogden, UT on May 19, 1949. He worked at H.A.F.B for over 30 years and enjoyed his 20 years of retirement with family and friends.

As a young child Paul loved hanging out with his siblings, cousins, and friends. He also enjoyed playing sports, being outside, and visiting his dad at Fords where he was a mechanic. He excelled at wrestling, baseball, and would go for a run whenever he could. He proudly served his country in the Vietnam War and earned medals. Including two Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart.

Throughout his life he was fond of playing golf, fishing, camping, and going to his children’s sporting events. He delighted in gardening, good music, and memorable times with his family and friends.

Paul was generous when no one was looking. Did good deeds when no one was watching and helped countless people in difficult times. Proving the most beautiful things don’t ask for attention. He was a jokester, a prankster and could make anyone with a pulse enjoy themselves. His laugh and smile could warm a room and bring happiness to those around him. Paul was a supportive and caring father who endlessly loved his children. His last blessing he bestowed on his family was to bring them closer together in his final weeks of life. He waited for the moment he knew his children were all there for him and each other. Then he pulled his famous line for the last time “Well I’m heading out” and he earned every bit of his graceful passing. He will be dearly missed by all of those who had the pleasure of knowing and loving him.

Paul wore many titles: son, brother, husband, coach and friend. But Dad was his favorite.

He had seven children, Justin Huffaker, Stephanie Taylor (deceased), Zack Huffaker, Troy Huffaker, Tonya Huffaker, Stephanie Porter “Scooter” and his youngest Kelci Larson.
