Paul Dean Davis

Paul Dean Davis, 71, peacefully and unexpectedly passed away at home on March 23, 2026. He was born on October 3, 1954, in Sheridan, Montana, to Dean Lamar and Dorthy Sharp Davis. His family later moved to Ogden, Utah, where Paul attended Bonneville High School, graduating in 1972.

On March 7, 1975, Paul married the love of his life, Janis Murray, in Ogden, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple, sealing them together for time and all eternity. Together they built a strong and loving family, raising five children.

Paul proudly served his country as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force for six years. During his service, he was stationed in Ohio, Illinois, and Mississippi. These years shaped his lifelong love of cooking and a lasting appreciation for the friendships he formed.

After his military service, Paul and Jan made their home in Clinton, Utah, in 1981, where they raised their family and Paul pursued higher education, earning a bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering from Weber State University. They later settled in Harrisville, making it their home for the past 23 years. Throughout his life, Paul worked diligently to provide for his family while always making time for the activities he loved. In retirement, he especially treasured “man trips” and adventures shared with family and friends.

Paul had a passion for the outdoors and simple joys in life. He enjoyed camping, photography, rock hunting, cooking, and taking his children to the movies. In retirement, he was able to dedicate even more time to his hobbies. Though his love of the outdoors was not always shared by his wife Jan, he lovingly set aside his own preferences to enjoy cruises and travel with her. He was a self-proclaimed “YouTube University” student, always eager to learn new recipes and skills to share with those he loved.

Above all, Paul loved his family. He found his greatest joy in spending time with his children and especially his grandchildren, creating lasting memories filled with laughter, love, and good food.

Paul was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Throughout his life, he faithfully served in various callings and found great fulfillment in serving others and strengthening his community.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Jan Davis; his children, Leslie (Travis) Wentz, Mike Davis, Shannon (Steven) Bender, Stacey (Josh) Carter, and Ryan (Lauren) Davis; his siblings, Shelly, Steven, Annie, Allen, and Linda; and his 14 cherished grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Cindy; and his granddaughter, Abbigale.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 11 a.m. at the Harrisville 6th Ward Chapel, 113 North Childs Avenue. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd. Services entrusted to Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary. 

Paul will be remembered for his kindness, dedication, quiet strength, and unwavering love for his family. His legacy lives on in the lives of those he touched.
