Patsy Ubell Allen

Patsy Ubell Allen, 87, passed away May 16, 2023, in Ogden, Utah. Pat was born August 7, 1935 in Maramec, Oklahoma and moved to Ogden, Utah in 1943, which would be her home for the rest of her life.

Patsy - Pat or Aunt Pat to those who loved her most - was a deeply religious and fiercely independent woman, traveling internationally at a time well before single women did such things. She held memories from those trips and treasured stories of others' travels, asking friends and family to send postcards from their own journeys. Pat was a skilled artist, decorating her letters and cards with sketches that are now treasured keepsakes. She was caring, kind and thoughtful - if Pat saw a photo or an article from a magazine or newspaper that reminded her of a loved one, it would immediately be clipped and put in the mail. She loved dogs, though none she met later in life held a candle to her treasured Benson Harris, the most adorable maltese mix. Whether through work, church or other social or civic activities, Pat made friends easily and remained social until the end of her life, with friends visiting her often even as she was unable to get out as she once did. She will be deeply missed by many.

Pat is survived by her sister, Beverly (James) Parkin; brother, Jerry (Della) Allen; nieces and nephews, Beckie Clarkson, Debbie (Michael) Padgett, Wendy Graham, Shelly (John) Russon, and Jeff (Jennifer Allen); and her many beloved great-nieces and great-nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. Pat was preceded in death by her nephew, Timothy Mosher.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, May 22, 2023 at 1 p.m. at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.

We would like to thank the Enhabit Hospice team for all the love and care they have given to Aunt Pat for such a long time. And also, Mary, from  Essentialcare, for making Aunt Pat’s last weeks better.
