Patricia Ann Ostberg, 75, a long-time resident of Roy, passed away peacefully of natural causes at her home on Thursday, December 19, 2024.
She was born May 19, 1949, in Ogden, Utah to Emmett Scott and Barbara May Henry Prothero. Patricia was the eldest of six Prothero siblings, which included Gary, Gail, Brian, Ronald, and Sharon. She also had two half-brothers on her mother’s side, Jerry and Teddy.
Patricia graduated from Ogden High School and later earned her bachelor’s degree from Weber State University.
For years, Pat sold Avon throughout Ogden. She also worked for Comfort Suites but retired as a tax examiner from the IRS. Pat loved to ride horses and was a member of an Ogden riding club for years. She also loved the mountains and going fishing. Pat was also fond of her fur babies and ice cream sandwiches and Cheetos Munchies crackers.
Pat was a very forgiving mother. She had a dry wit and loved to laugh and joke with her friends and family, particularly camping and being in the outdoors. Pat lived a life full of love, kindness, and dedication to her family. She was a devoted mother and a pillar of strength to anyone who knew her.
The love of her life was Travis J. Ostberg. They met as co-workers and made a life together, marrying on March 11, 2010, in Las Vegas, NV. Pat was deeply saddened by his loss when he passed away on August 15, 2024.
Patricia is survived by her children, Christopher Paul (Linda) Eagy, Roy; Justin Edward (Elane) Eagy, Logan; and Heather BreeAnn (Greg Hawkes) Eagy, Roy; grandchildren, Nikki, Trista, Hayden, Zacharias, Ian, Jade, and Samantha; and one great-grandchild, Croyden. She is also survived by her sister, Gail (Robert) Burgess, Phoenix, AZ; Brian (Julie) Prothero, Ft. Worth, TX; Ronald (Deby) Prothero, Hurricane, UT; Sharon Herrera, Ottowatta, TN; father-in-law, Larry Ostberg, Las Vegas; sister-in-law, Tammy (Bryan Goodpasture) Holmes, Las Vegas; brother-in-law David Ostberg, Eagle Mountain; and by her nieces and nephews, Tiffany and Jessica Holmes, and Melissa and David Shawn Ostberg; and also by seven great-nieces and nephews.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Travis; her parents, her brother, Gary; and her mother-in-law, Debbie Shaver.
A Memorial Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2025, at 2 p.m. on at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints meetinghouse, 3845 South 2000 West, Roy, UT. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
