Patricia Theodora Gordon
February 2, 1956 ~ October 7, 2022
Patricia Theodora Gordon passed away peacefully at her home in West Haven, Utah on October 7, 2022.
Today we celebrate the life of Patricia Gordon. She was the kindest, most loving person in the world.
Patricia was born to parents Helen Cohen-Peart and Reginald Augustus Gordon on February 2, 1956 in New York City, NY. Patricia grew up in Cambria Height, Queens and graduated from Washington Irving High School.
Patricia earned her bachelor’s degree in Speech Therapy at Hunter College.
In 1986 Patricia moved to Ogden, UT where she worked for the State of Utah Department Of Youth Corrections. Her years of work as a youth corrections officer allowed her to counsel many youths and helped direct them to a better path in life.
Patricia enjoyed gardening, reading and spending time with her family and friends. She was known for the “open door’ policy at her home and created a safe space where she acted as mom to anyone that walked through her door. We can honestly say she was a friend to everyone whether it be her role as a mother, sister, daughter, grandmother, co-worker or people she met for a season. Everyone who knew her always felt better knowing she would step in as a support system. She always made sacrifices, more then anyone would know but would always take the time to listen.
The warmth and happiness she brought to us can not be overstated.
We love her more then words could possibly say, she will forever live on in our hearts.
Patricia is survived by her husband, Bernard Robinson; sons, Kamik (Monica) Gordon and Michael Wharton; her daughters, Jasmine Gordon, Angelique Gordon and Paxton Gordon; grandsons, Skielar (Sage) Gordon, Fernando Gurule and Nasir Wharton; granddaughter, Brooklyn Elegante; and sister, Jaqueline Gordon. She was preceded in death by her parents, Reginald and Helen Gordon; her partner, Gloria Mejias; and her children’s father, Michael Wharton.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 15, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.
In lieu of flowers please send plants, as they were one of Patricia’s joys.
