Patricia Ann Ibison Young

Patricia Ann Young, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on March 22, 2026, in Layton, Utah. She was born on May 28, 1939, in Yorktown, Virginia, to William Marshall Ibison and Genevieve Virginia Basta Ibison.

In her early childhood, Patricia’s family moved to Los Angeles, California, where she met the love of her life, John Wayne Young. They were married on November 16, 1956, at Point Mugu Naval Air Station, California, and shared 68 devoted years of marriage before John’s passing on August 5, 2025. These past months without him were difficult, and the family finds comfort in knowing they are reunited once again.

Patricia retired from Hill Air Force Base and was a dedicated business owner, operating Young’s Gift Shop and Sea Breeze Travel. Throughout her life, she worked various jobs and generously gave her time through volunteer service with the Layton Jaycees.

Patricia and John made their home in Clearfield, Utah. They enjoyed spending winters in Desert Center, California, and summers in Star Valley, Wyoming, embracing a life filled with travel, friendship, and family.

She is survived by her son, Wayne (Lauri) Young; daughter, Marsha (Chris) Combe; brother, William (Jan) Ibison; and sister, Donna Fernandez. She also leaves behind many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, all of whom were touched by her warmth and love.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Wayne Young; her father, William Marshall Ibison; her mother, Genevieve Virginia Basta; and her brother, Dale Ibison.

Patricia had a gift for making others feel loved and welcomed. She shared her kindness freely, offering warmth, hugs, and friendship to all who knew her.

A graveside service will be held on April 10, 2026, in Clearfield, Utah.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff of Abbington Assisted Living and Memory Care and Inspiration Hospice for their exceptional care and compassion. Special gratitude is given to Paige, Sydney, all the memory care caregivers and staff for their tender support.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages others to honor Patricia by spreading love and kindness, just as she did throughout her life.
