Parley Edward Tingey passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, leaving his home to embark on a “heavenly fishing trip.”
Parley was born to Francis and Eileen Gorringe Tingey on April 29, 1949. He was raised in Eden, Utah where he worked on a dairy farm, learned to hunt and fish, and developed a rebellious streak he never outgrew.
Parley married Marsha in 1969. Together, they would have three children, nine grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. Parley loved his family and enjoyed sharing his knowledge and hobbies with them whenever he could.
He had many interesting jobs in his life, but eventually landed at the Train Depot at HAFB, where he retired after a long career. He was proud to work there and loved sharing his knowledge of trains with anyone who would listen.
Parley will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his love for his family, his sense of humor, and willingness to help people whenever he could. His favorite things to do included fishing, hunting, 4-wheeler riding, spending time with his family, and telling people that “their shores were untied.”
Parley is survived by his wife, Marsha; children, Darrin (Jeanna), Shane (Allison), and Rhonda (Nathan); grandchildren, Krystal (Devon), Kevin (Nicole), Kindra (Cody), Kiley, Alexander, Shauntelle (Samuel), Samantha (Kyle), Dewain, and Charlotte; great-grandchildren Raynor, Rothwell, Adelicia, Rikard, Rudiger, Aiden, Kade, Kole, Wyatt, and Weston; sisters, Gladys and Deliah. He was preceded in death by his parents and great-granddaughter, Emilia.
