Oliver Edward Frenette, age 91 passed away April 30, 2023 at Legacy House in Bountiful, Utah. Oliver was born November 9, 1931 to Oliver Joseph Frenette and Emma Abigail Owens at Dee Hospital in Ogden, UT.
He grew up in Salt Lake City with his parents and two older sisters, Lorraine and Laura Frenette. As a boy he attended Riverview Elementary and Jordan Jr. High. He graduated from West High and attended LDS Business School.
On March 29, 1951 he married Margie Patrice Stauffer in the Salt Lake Temple. Afterwards they made their home at 1141 Fremont Ave in Salt Lake City. In order to support his family, he left school and began working at EMICO. He worked there for 42 years as a Mechanic and Welder. Margie passed away On February 27, 1986.
Oliver married LaRue Oakey Wall on July 31, 1987 and moved to Bountiful Utah. He was a stalwart member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served in many callings during his life, including numerous positions in bishoprics of the Cannon 6th Ward, and other callings in the Bountiful 33rd Ward. He was an ordinance worker in the Bountiful Temple for 17 years.
Ollie has been a loving father, grandfather, and friend to many. He was a great example of faith and hard work. Family has always been important to him and he enjoyed many hours spent with his family.
Children: Carla (Rick) Park, Brian Frenette (Linda), Karen (Ben) Williams, and Colleen (Stan) Parkin.
Step-Children: Dallin Wall, Wendy (Randy) Buckner;
18 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother and both sisters, two beloved wives Margie and LaRue and his son Larry Edward who died as an infant.
Many thanks to the wonderful people at Legacy House, Inspiration Hospice and the many friends and relatives who made his life enjoyable. He loved you all.
A viewing will be held Sunday, May 7, 2023 at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary from 6:00-8:00pm. Funeral Services will be held at the Bountiful Tabernacle Monday, May 8, 2023 at 11:00am. Family and friends may call from 9:30-10:30am prior to the funeral.
