Norrine Jones Gardiner passed away on May 24, 2025, in Clearfield, Utah. Born on June 23, 1935 to Alton and Annie Jones, in Ogden, Utah, Norrine dedicated her professional life to supporting countless lawyers and magistrates, culminating in her esteemed role working with a federal judge before her retirement.
In addition to her professional achievements, Norrine took great pride in her contributions to her community and her involvement in various organizations. She was an active member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers with Camp Sunrise, the Weber County Republican Women, the Federal Judicial Assistants Association, and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. Norrine also made her mark in local governance, serving as the first elected female city councilwoman for South Ogden, a testament to her leadership and dedication to public service.
Norrine was deeply committed to her faith, serving in numerous capacities within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, reflecting her profound belief and commitment to her spiritual community throughout her life.
Norrine is survived by her loving family, including her children, Stan (Marcia), Christine Hatch, Susan (Scott) Mumford, and Mary Ann (Jeff) Francis. She cherished her role as a grandmother to 11 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Her legacy also lives on through her sisters, RaNae Dennison and Karen Miller.
Norrine was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, James, as well as her brother, Read Jones. She leaves behind a legacy of service, commitment, and love that will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew her.
Graveside services will be held on Monday June 23, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Hooper Cemetery.
