Norman Garthell Dahle passed away at his Clinton home on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, just 6 days shy of his 89th birthday.
He was born in Logan, Utah, to Norman D. Dahle and Ruth Reese Dahle. He married his sweetheart, Karma Orton, in Ogden, Utah, on April 15, 1955, and they recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. Norm, Karma, and their four children were sealed as a family in the Logan Utah Temple in April 1964.
Together with his wife, Karma, he served several missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They served in the South Africa, Durbin Mission between the years of 2010 and 2012 and were called shortly thereafter to serve in the Illinois, Nauvoo Mission as head teamsters for 18 months, where they made many lifelong friends. They also worked for several years as missionaries at the Mesa Arizona Church Cannery and the Ogden Utah Cannery. They served as baptistry volunteers at the St. George Utah and Ogden Utah Temples.
He spent the majority of his career as the maintenance superintendent over Freeport Center in Clearfield Utah. He also worked for many years training race horses in both Arizona and Utah.
He ran a small farm for most of his adult life raising horses, a few cows, goats, pigs, chickens and rabbits. He planted large vegetable gardens every year that he kept immaculate, and he loved sharing the produce with family and friends. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and putting together jigsaw puzzles.
He was always serving others and would drop everything to help someone in need. He taught his family by example the value of hard work and could build or fix anything.
He is survived by his wife, Karma, and their four children, Debbie Miller-Jacobsen (DeWayne) Michele Arrington (Kent), Mike Dahle, & Jan Call (Brad), 13 grandchildren and 49 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Eldon & Reese, a sister, Pat Clark, and a son-in-law, Dan Miller.
A Celebration of Life will be held on his birthday, Tuesday, August 12, 2025, 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2206 West 2300 North in Clinton, Utah. Friends may visit with family on Monday, August 11, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Syracuse Mortuary, 869 S. 2000 W. and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
