LAYTON - Noreen Earl Cook, 92, passed away Friday, May 27, 2016 at Apple Village Assisted Living.

She was born July 18, 1923 in Salt Lake City, Utah the daughter of Edwin B. and Marva Udy Earl.

Mom spent her growing up years in Farmington, Utah.  She graduated from Dear Old Davis High School in 1942.  While at Davis she met a wild and crazy guy from Layton, the man of her dreams, Louis J. Cook.  They were married in Chicago, Illinois, September 6, 1944, while dad was stationed at the Great Lakes during the War.  Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.

They had two boys, Carter and Bruce, who they supported from Little League thru High School.  Mom loved baseball and loved to watch her boys play ball.

Mom was a charter member of the ladies “Boots & Saddle” riding club.  Her and dad enjoyed many horse activities together.  Later mom and dad bought some ground up at Scare Canyon and built a cabin.  That is when they started snowmobiling with their friends from Ogden.

Mom was a life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  She loved serving in the Primary and her last calling was Ward Librarian.  Mom also did volunteer work at the Davis Hospital and Medical Center in Layton.

Surviving are her sons Carter (Karen) Cook, Bruce (Joan) Cook, brother, Rodney Earl, 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband Louis J. Cook, granddaughter, Molly M. Cook and brother, Brent U. Earl.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 4, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Park Ward, 275 Park Street, Layton.  Friends may visit family Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.  Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staff and friends at Apple Village Assisted Living and the staff at Canyon Home Health and Hospice.
