Nick John Thiros passed away peacefully at his home on April 28, 2025 surrounded by his loving children. Born in Ogden, Utah, on August 5, 1924, he was the beloved son of John Nick and Christina Hirakis Thiros.
Nick married the love of his life, Aspacia (Specks) Arkoudas, and together they shared 53 years of marriage until her passing in 2005. A devoted family man, Nick was known for his warmth, strength, and unwavering dedication to those he loved.
He spent a lifetime farming and was equally passionate about his career, dedicating many years as a technician at Hill Air Force Base, where he played a role in the Minuteman missile program. In his later years, Nick and his loving wife spent many winters in Yuma, Arizona where they enjoyed the warm weather with many friends.
Nick’s enthusiasm for hockey and affinity for travel were only matched by the joy he found in being present for his grandchildren. Whether it was a game, recital, or school event, he showed up with pride and steady support.
This past August Nick had a wonderful 100th birthday celebration with friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his wife Specks, his daughter, Stacie; his parents; brothers Louie and Harry Thiros; and son-in-law Michael O’Leary.
