Nick Antone Hohlios, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on June 13, 2025, at his farm in Honeyville, Utah, following devastating complications from multiple strokes. He was born on September 7, 1949, in Ogden, Utah, to Antone and Georgia Hohlios.
Nick dedicated 30 years of his life to serving his country as a Master Sergeant in the Army Reserves. He was a sharpshooter and a rifle expert, embodying the true spirit of patriotism that he carried with great pride throughout his life. He continued serving his country as a missile mechanic at Hill Air Force Base, retiring from his career in 2004.
He will be remembered for his warm smile, kindness, and willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He had a unique way of engaging conversations, often filled with fascinating tidbits of information, prompting many to respond with a smile as they shared stories and laughter. A strong family man, he cherished his role as THE ultimate father and husband, with his family being his greatest treasure.
His devotion extended beyond his immediate family; he was actively involved in the Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church community, where he served as a parish council member and festival chairman. Nick found joy in embodying the spirit of giving, often playing Santa Claus for both his church and the North Davis Comets Special Olympics, bringing smiles and laughter to many children and families.
In his free time, Nick was passionate about various hobbies including camping, hunting, fishing, and leather work. He looked forward to the excitement of mountain man rendezvous, where he enjoyed immersing himself in the outdoor lifestyle. Nick would also proudly share tales about his classic cars.
Nick is survived by his beloved wife, Linda; and their children, Tonya and Patricio Garcia of West Point, Melissa and Todd Johnson of Syracuse, Nicholas and Ashley Hohlios of Honeyville, and Thomas John “T.J.” Hohlios of Honeyville. He was also a proud grandfather to eight grandchildren and a great-grandfather to five great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his brothers, Frank (Joy) Hohlios and Gus (Paula) Hohlios; his aunt, Georgia Sentkowski; and many nieces and nephews. Nick was preceded in death by his parents.
His legacy of love, compassion, and undeniable spirit will always be cherished by those he touched throughout his life. Nick will be deeply missed, but his memories will continue to bring warmth and inspiration to his family and friends.
