Neil Fabrizio

October 26, 1929 — June 10, 2025

Bountiful

Neil Fabrizio, a Korean War veteran, devoted Latter-day Saint, and a humble, steadfast man, died June 10, 2025, in Bountiful, Utah. He was 95.

Born on October 26, 1929, in Hanna, Utah, to Charlie and Rosie Fabrizio, Neil grew up on the banks of the Duchesne River alongside his brothers, whose lives were shaped by the steady work ethic of their Italian immigrant father and the strong will of their mother.

Neil married Carma Rae Moon on December 18, 1948—a union that endured for more than 76 years. Carma was the great love of his life, and he often said that their life together was his proudest achievement.

He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict, stationed on the flight line with the 9th Field Maintenance Squadron in the Strategic Air Command. An electrician of remarkable skill, he was sought after by pilots who trusted his meticulous touch.

Following his military service, Neil and Carma left the Uinta Basin and settled in Davis County, where he worked in electronics before launching a successful waste disposal business. But his life’s great project was his deep and abiding devotion to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Over the years, he served in numerous callings, including as a high counselor and bishop. Ward members were always charmed by his earnest mispronunciations of distant mission destinations when he announced the assignments of new missionaries.

Neil’s greatest service came in the temple, where he proudly tallied the endowments he performed over the years—a quiet act of reverence and disciplined devotion.

A working-class man with an artist’s impulse, he created intricate (and very heavy) welded sculptures, tried his hand at oil painting, and never stopped building or repairing things—often for friends and neighbors. He was an incredible welder, fastidious in his work, and always generous with his time.

Neil is survived by his beloved wife, Carma Fabrizio; children, Craig (Janet) Fabrizio, Fruit Heights; Michele Hill, Salt Lake City; Doug (Alice Storm) Fabrizio, Salt Lake City; Mindy Fabrizio, Bountiful; and Joe (Paige) Fabrizio, Centerville; 16 grandchildren, including Lindsey Hill; and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Rodney Neil; his parents; and his brothers, Art, Tom, Delbert, Dwight, and Dwayne.

Neil was a loving father—kind, decent, and quietly principled. He never had a bad word for anyone. His strongest expression—used often and with feeling—was the exclamation he made his own: “Gadfrey!”

We will miss him terribly.
