Nancy Linda Edwards Coverdell Corbett, age 78, passed away on May 14, 2026, in Ogden, Utah, surrounded by the love of her family and the many lives she touched throughout her remarkable life.
Nancy was born on September 5, 1947, in Honolulu, Hawaii, to James John Edwards and Svea Stenwall Edwards. She carried the spirit and warmth of the islands with her throughout her life, sharing kindness, compassion, and strength with everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Nancy proudly served her country in the United States Air Force, reflecting her dedication, resilience, and servant’s heart. She later built a beautiful life alongside her beloved husband, Michael James Corbett.
Together, Nancy and Mike shared 47 wonderful years of marriage, partnership, and devotion.
They built a small farm in Kaufman, Texas, where they created a loving home filled with family, animals, laughter, and hard work. There they raised their sons, Steven Douglas Coverdell and Sean Michael Corbett. Nancy also lovingly embraced and cared deeply for Mike’s sons, Mark Walter Corbett and Matthew Oliver Corbett, as part of the family she cherished so deeply.
Nancy’s greatest joy was her family. She was a proud grandmother to 10 grandchildren and a treasured great-grandmother to 8 great-grandchildren. Her love, wisdom, and gentle guidance will continue to live on through each of them.
Nancy also had a lifelong passion for animals, especially her beloved dogs and horses. Many who knew her remember the joy she found in sharing her knowledge and love of animals with others, including visits and educational experiences with schools and assisted living facilities. Her compassion for animals and people alike left a lasting impression on countless lives.
Nancy was preceded in death by her father, James John Edwards; her mother, Svea Stenwall Edwards Olson; and her beloved husband of 47 years, Michael James Corbett.
Nancy will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, quiet strength, and the deep love she gave to her family, friends, animals, and community. Her legacy is one of compassion, service, and unconditional love.
