Murray D. Hoskins

CLEARFIELD a€" Murray D. Hoskins, 84, our loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend was called home by his Father in Heaven on January 31, 2012. Murray passed away peacefully at home.

Murray was born on September 21, 1927 in Portage, UT, the youngest child of Richard S. Hoskins and Ladetha P. Hoskins. Murray met Selma Clifton at Elgin AFB, FL where they were both employees. On July 5, 1947 they married and on October 1, 1990 they were sealed for eternity in the Ogden LDS Temple. Murray was preceded in death by his parents, siblings (two sisters, three brothers), and his wife Selma.

Murray and Selma wintered in Yuma, AZ for 19 years. There they met many new friends along with all their great friends from home that also wintered in Yuma.

Murray was active in the LDS Church serving in various positions. Murray is survived by their four children: Richard T. (Barbara), Karen (Bruce) Nichols, Steven (Tammy), Brent (Sandy), and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, February 4, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Portage, Utah Cemetery. Friends may visit family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.

The family wishes to thank Tage Stanger, his loving grandson and caregiver, also Tammy, Crystal, and Fred of Alpine Hospice for their care and support of our dad and also to the many friends who were there for him.
