Mona Jean Rodee

Mona Jean Rodee

Beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2011. She has returned home to a loving God and back into the arms of her father and mother, Fred and Martha M. Stark Anderson; three sisters, Marcia J. Butterfield, Mary J. Shelton and Margo J. Kindsvater; and her grandson, Jake Breitner. We are hopeful that the Almighty is "Mighty" enough to handle the likes of these five strong-willed Anderson girls.

Mona was born January 17, 1932 in Bucklin, Kansas. She graduated from Coldwater High School and briefly attended Emporia State College where she met, fell in love with, and married Robert L. Rodee and have been together for 59 years.

She was a deeply devoted wife to an Air Force Officer and prior to retiring in Utah had moved 26 times during 27 years of active service. She loved to play golf and bridge with friends. She and Bob have been devoted members of Roy Christian Church for over 35 years. She was a strong example of a Proverbs 31 wife to all who knew her. Together they raised and are survived by three wonderful children, Timothy K. (Katherine E.) Rodee, David (Margaret A.) Rodee and Melissa J. Breitner. Her 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren have brought true joy to her life.

At her death she was 79 years old and a resident of Riverdale, Utah. For those of you who knew her best, her final words to you would either be, "See more of you when we go swimming!" or "Write when you get work!" ?

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 5, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Roy Christian Church, 4347 South 1900 West, Roy. Friends may visit family on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South, and Thursday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. A luncheon for friends and family will follow the services prior to interment. Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.

If desired, in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Roy Christian Church.
