Mona Lou Blakeley

April 9, 1936 — August 9, 2023

Mona Lou Blakeley passed away peacefully, held in the arms of her loving family.

Mona was born to Cyril and Eva Christiansen Brown in Annabella, Utah. Her mother died when she was three days old. Mona’s lifelong desire was to meet her mother. Her Grandma and Grandpa Christiansen raised her in Monroe, Utah, with the help of her aunt, Ida.

At age sixteen, Mona moved to Ogden to live with her father’s family. She graduated from Ogden High School. Afterward, she married Gary Stonehocker. They had three sons together, and later divorced.

Mona later married Clark Blakeley. Mona and her “Clarkie” enjoyed a love-filled marriage of twenty-nine years. They loved to golf and spend time with family. Happiness and laughter filled their home. Clark passed away unexpectedly in 2001.

Mona served the LDS Church in many capacities. She was a talented artist. She enjoyed making ceramics and porcelain dolls and embroidering pretty and whimsical items on her sewing machines.

Mona delighted in spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She is greatly missed.

Mona is survived by her son, Jeff (Jacque); daughter-in-law, Leslie; grandchildren, Zach (Taryn), Dani, Chris (Crystal), Shelbi, and Chloe; and by four great-grandchildren, Sabriel, Link, Lock, and Rowen.

Mona was preceded in death by her husband, Clark; sons, Randy and James; and her beloved grandson, Jason.

Graveside funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Ben Lomond Cemetery, 526 E 2850 N, North Ogden. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary.
