Michael Jay Bitton passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at his home in Park City, Utah.
Michael was born on February 16, 1948, in Ogden, Utah to Spencer Jay Bitton and Venice Olson Bitton. He grew up in Ogden, graduated from Ogden High and attended Weber State. He served an LDS mission in Munich, Germany. In 1970 he married the love of his life Lana Harmston in the Salt Lake temple and together they raised two sons and two daughters. Michael enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, golfing, photography, skiing and his pets but above all he loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife Lana Harmston Bitton; his parents, Jay and Venice Bitton; his siblings, Randy (Jacki) Bitton, Larry (Kristie) Bitton, Leslie (Ryan) Judd and sister-in-law, Deborah Bitton; his children, Brett Bitton, Josh (Amanda) Bitton, Mindy (Matt) Baird, Katie (Jesse) Allen; and grandchildren, Griffin Bitton, Kayla McNulty, Avry Bitton, Cameron Baird, Boston Allen, Gage Bitton and Chloe Baird. He was preceded in death by his younger brother, Spencer Todd Bitton.
Michael will be remembered by his huge heart, his love and kindness, his deep love and knowledge of the gospel, his fun family parties and his epic sense of humor. Michael was a wonderful teacher, and he loved to learn.
