Michael A. Bergener, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle was called home to the Kingdom of Heaven on December 15, 2025, after a short but intense battle with cancer. He crossed over peacefully at home in the care of his cherished wife, Connie.

Mike was born in Salt Lake City on September 28, 1955, to Mary (Lindorff) and Neil Bergener. He attended schools in Utah and Oregon.

He married Constance Benson on June 1, 1976, in Bountiful, Utah. They spent 50 loving years together and had two children. Mike and Connie have resided in South Ogden the last 11 years.

Mike was a loving, loyal, and devoted family man who enjoyed camping, fishing, hiking, and golfing. He enjoyed sketching and drawing; he loved a good game of chess with his grandchildren and was an excellent baseball and softball coach to his children. He enjoyed taking trips and vacations with his wife, children, and grandchildren making precious memories. He was a devoted believer in Jesus. He studied and lived the Word with a passion for giving and selfless service.

Mike began his career in the restaurant business managing for Robintinos and then worked a 37-year career in the wholesale grocery industry, he was a great provider for his family.

Mike is survived by his loving wife, Connie; his son, Rick Bergener; and daughter-in-law, Diane Goble, West Jordan, Utah; grandchildren, Gillian, Shellby, Dillon and Daniel; his daughter, Amy VanDyke and son-in-law Rodney VanDyke, Frederick, Maryland; and grandson, Holden; his sister, Debbie Griffith and brother-in-law Paul Griffith; and many nieces and nephews, siblings-in-law, cousins, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his younger brother, Ronnie (1978), his mother, Mary (2018); his older brother, Burke (2019); and his father, Neil (2023).

Mike was a precious gift to his family and all who knew and loved him, and he will be deeply missed.

A special thank you to the IHC Hospice workers for their compassionate service in his final days.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the mortuary.
