Michael George Argerakis

Michael George Argerakis passed away peacefully in his home on February 5, 2024. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle who cared deeply for family and friends.

He was born in Leonidio, Greece on September 25, 1933 to George and Maria Argerakis. He married Elaine Sarris on June 12, 1960 in Leonidio, Greece. Elaine passed away on December 8, 2005.

He worked in the steel industry for several years. Michael was also a faithful member of the Holy Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church of Ogden.

 He is survived by his daughter Maria (Kevin) Kinney and son George Argerakis; grandchildren Korene, Alyssia, Mikkayla (KC), Thomas, and bonus grandchildren Rebecca (Justin), Jake (Kandyse), and Rachelle (Shane). He is also survived by his brother and two sisters who live in Greece. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Maria, wife Elaine, and daughter Angie Slane.

The family would like to thank Inspiration Home Health and Hospice for their compassion and care which allowed Michael the opportunity to be home with his family.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday February 10, 2024 at 11:00 am at the Holy Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church, 674 42^nd St., Ogden, Utah. A viewing will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service with Trisagion service at 10:45 a.m.

Interment, Lindquist’s Layton Memorial Park, 1867 N Fairfield Road, Layton, Utah.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Ogden Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church.
