Merlynn Scothern Stoddard

LAYTON – Merlynn Scothern Stoddard, 57, passed away Thursday, April 17, 2014 at her home.

She was born November 5, 1956 in Downey, Idaho the daughter of Wendell Leon and Sylvia Dolores Scothern.

Merlynn married James K. Stoddard on November 14, 1977 in Farmington, Utah.

She loved fishing, camping, boating, enjoyed good company and especially loved being with family and friends.

Surviving are her husband James (Jim) K. Stoddard Jr., son, James Keith (Jake) (JoLynn) Stoddard III, grandchildren, Gavin James Stoddard, McKelle, Jade Ohrn, McKenzi Jane Ohrn, mother, Dolores Scothern,  brother, Gary (Marylin) Scothern and sister, Luann (Jeff) Abrams.

Preceded in death by her daughter, Cindy Stoddard, son, Jason Wallace Stoddard, father, Wendell Scothern and brother, Roger Scothern.

A gathering of friends and family will be held Wednesday, April 23, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
