Merlynn Cornia Livingston passed away March 1, 2012 in South Ogden, Utah at the age of 84, having been given a merciful relief from illnesses she had endured the past few years. She was born December 16, 1927 in Salt Lake City to Kenneth Buford and Meriba Kimball Cornia.
Merlynn was raised in Salt Lake City, attending local schools and graduating from East High. While in high school she met Blayne Ted Livingston. They married September 3, 1948 in Pasadena, California. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Los Angeles Temple. They lived in Pasadena and Arcadia, California where they raised their family and developed wonderful, long-lasting friendships with many. Upon retirement in 1993, Merlynn and Blayne retired to St. George where both new and past friendships blossomed. Merlynn''s homes were always open to friends and family.
Merlynn was very creative and most talented. As a youth she enjoyed performing in drama and music productions. She shared her creativity with many. Through her life she served in many church callings, using her talents to bless others. Even as her health failed, she would still hum familiar, sweet tunes to soothe her soul.
Merlynn''s most cherished career was being a mother and the special grandma who loved spending Blayne''s money on the grandkids. Merlynn''s second career was working as a bookkeeper for Price Books and Forms, retiring after 27 years. Her third career was making the lives of others better.
Merlynn is survived by her children and their spouses; Kent (Fran) Riverside, CA, Debbie (Randy Sessions) Morgan, UT. , Tracy (Janet) Lee''s Summit, MO., nine grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren and her brother Howard (Carolyn) Cornia of Bremerton, Washington. She was preceded in death by her husband Blayne, her parents, sister Kennedine and brother Maurice.
The family offers a special thank you to Diane and Cari of Inspiration Hospice for their compassionate service and to the caring angels at Manor Care who haven''t yet acquired their wings, because they are too busy taking care of those in need.
Graveside services will be held at 1 pm Saturday, March 10, 2012 at Midvale City Cemetery 450 W. 7500 S. Friends may visit Sat. from 11am to 12 pm at Lindquist''s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. prior to services.
