Melanie Raquel Martini was born on July 31, 1975, to Robert and Dixie Martini. With great sadness in our hearts, Melanie returned home to her loving heavenly father on December 5, 2024. Melanie attended school in Roy City. She graduated in 1993 from Roy High. She was a member of the Roy High School Color Guard team. After graduating, she went to school to be a firefighter. She worked for Roy City Fire Department. She also worked for Davis Hospital in the Emergency Room and was a dispatcher for Davis County. She was very ambitious and worked all three jobs at the same time. She loved helping people. She developed a seizure problem and could no longer continue working in those capacities.
She was hired at the Internal Revenue Service in September 2009 and worked as a Human Resource Assistant. She worked there until February 2023 when her health started to fail, and she had to take a disability retirement. While working for the Internal Revenue Service she took evening classes at Broadview University and received an Associate degree in Veterinary Technology and graduated December 23, 2010. During her working years she received many awards for her performance, dedication and service.
After her disability retirement she lived at the Peachtree Assistant Living for almost a year until her health declined and she was moved to Rocky Mountain Care facility. Her health continued to decline, and she was placed on Hospice until her passing.
Melanie married Elvin (John) Brown on September 16, 2006. They later went to the Salt Lake Temple to have their marriage solemnized. She was a loving stepmother to his daughter Heather. They later divorced and she took back her maiden name.
Melanie loved camping, scrapbooking and cross-stitch. She also loved playing games with her family and building puzzles. She was an avid reader and loved animals.
Melanie will be greatly missed by her family and friends, especially Lisa Herring and Debbie Hatfield, and all who had the pleasure of rubbing shoulders with her. We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who took care of her and for the loving concern shown to her.
She is survived by her mother, Dixie, three brothers and a stepdaughter, Shawn (Heidi), Randy (Bridget), Mike (Jennifer), and stepdaughter Heather Smullin. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Martini.
