Maxine Lavon Newbold Sears Rizzi

I, wife, mother, daughter, sister, and aunt. To many grandma and great-grandma. I passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 19, 2023.

I was born in Tremonton, Utah on November 22, 1933 to Lewis M and Martha Elizabeth Smith Newbold. Waiting for me as I step through the veil are my parents, grandparents, three brothers, Arlo, Bill, and Marlo; two sisters, Donna and Marie; a baby daughter, three sons, Randy, Kerry, and Parley Sears; a grandson, Jayson Sears; and numerous others. I loved my various callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint Wards.

I married Blayne Sears December 13, 1950. From this marriage I have four sons, Daryl (Valerie), Byhalia, MS; Randy (deceased), Kerry (deceased), and Parley (deceased); daughter, Susan (Kevin) Brown, Ogden, UT. I divorced Blayne in 1970.

I married Ray Rizzi on June 19, 1973 and we were sealed in the Bountiful Utah Temple in 1997. We have one son, Zachary (Miranda), Riverdale, UT. I have 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. I love being called “Aunt Maxine” to many.

I went to Weber High School. As a young girl I loved to roller skate at the Berthana Roller Rink. I loved being a waitress in my younger days! I loved to read, I loved to work word puzzles, I love my family, I loved our road trips, I loved our trip to Italy (beautiful country), I loved growing big, beautiful plants in our home, I love my husband Ray, I do love ALL my family most of all!!!!

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Warren/West Warren Cemetery.
