Mary L. Wayment

Mary L Wayment, 82, of Layton Utah passed away peacefully on February 28, 2024 surrounded by her family. She was born June 12, 1941 in Logan Utah to Harry and Bernice Thomas.

Mom graduated from Logan High School in 1959. Married James A Loosle and later divorced. Mom later married Grant E Wayment on October 6, 1986. They were sealed in the Bountiful Temple in October 2002.

Mom was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where she served in many capacities. Her favorite was Relief Society President where she continued to serve others. Throughout her life she was always looking to see what she could do for someone in need. She was best known for her rolls and homemade bread. She made bread each week for the Sacrament at her ward in Kaysville.

After she retired from the State Office of Education her sister Vera got her involved with Humanitarian Services. She crocheted many hats, scarves, booties, and leper bandages. She made hundreds of quilts for the Linus Project and crocheted hundreds of baby blankets for Caring for Koi.

Mom is survived by her children, Larry Wayment (Julia), Kent Wayment (Sabrina), Lee Wayment, Darren Wayment, Eddie Loosle, Angie Haycock, Jeff Wayment (Karen), many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Cindy Archer, son in-law Steve Archer, Grandson Shawn Dalhover and her siblings, Dorothy Cowley, Vera Choat and Richard Thomas.

The family would like a special thank you to mom’s hospice nurse Angie and the staff and residents at Fairfiled Village for all their love and compassion they showed our mom.

Funeral Services will be held Friday March 8, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah.  Friends may visit with family Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary prior to the service.

Mom will be laid to rest at the Warren Cemetery, 750 N 6700 W, Warren Utah.
