Mary Harwood

Long time Bountiful resident, Mary M. Harwood, passed away on Nov. 2, 2013 at the home of her daughter, Angie, in Bellingham, WA. She was 90.

Born Mary Lorene Murray on Aug. 8, 1923 on a farm outside of Hope, Kansas, she moved to Bountiful in April, 1959, with her husband and two children. She served in the Bountiful Community for many years as a Girl Scout Leader, helping guide young girls in the Brownie, Junior and Cadette programs. She provided many different activities and learning situations for all three age groups. She later ran a Senior Citizen Center for Salt Lake County.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Lloyd Harwood and two sons, William Lloyd and Thomas Lee Harwood. She is survived by two daughters, Lesley Harwood Pilkington of Thousand Oaks, CA and Dr. Angela Marie Harwood of Bellingham, WA. She''s also survived by four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She will be remembered as a loving and caring mother, a beloved grandmother and great-grandmother. A short viewing and good-bye will be held at 9:30 a.m. at Lindquist''s Bountiful Mortuary 727 N. 400 E. in Bountiful, followed by a graveside service at Bountiful City Cemetery. All who knew her are welcome to join the family. Condolences may be shared at www.lindquistmortuary.com
