MARTE HAZELWOOD

“THE CARAMEL LADY”

Mom passed away on March 13,2023- Born in Arkansas and raised in Alabama

KINDNESS IS FREE SPRINKLING IT EVERYWHERE

MARTE showed sweet kindness to all.

She started making Carmel's years ago when she was caring for her Husband who had dementia. She made the Carmel's and Dad wrapped them and put them in bags. Mom’s purse had many bags of Carmel's to share with Doctors, RN,  Medical staff, grocery staff, banking staff, church folks, hairdressers, cleaners and  anyone who cross their path.

Marte made her mark on the world by showing sweet kindness. She made her last batch the first of March as she had a sweet homecoming with Jesus and her devoted husband of 70 years.

How do you measure a lifetime?

By the hours or the days or the years?

You measure the memory.

You treasure the moment.

You remember all the blessings you’ve been given.

And thank the good Lord above

For every moment you’ve been loved,

Every hour, every day that you’ve been livin’.

That’s how you measure a lifetime. - Kathi Lee Gifford

Marte was loved by her late husband Bill Hazelwood.

Son  Bill and favorite daughter in law  Ella

Daughter Sheila and favorite son in law Jim Goodfellow

Blessed with 4 grandkids. 16 great grandkids.

Survived by Jimmy Thompson and John Thompson.

Marte worked at Hill AFB and DDO in Ogden in supply  chain computer support for 29 years.

As mom said, “God gave men and women brains. She showed that any woman can do what they want”

Her family and friends will miss her deeply.
