Mark Levy, 89, a long-time resident of Ogden, passed away at McKay-Dee Hospital on March 18, 2026, of natural causes.
He was born on September 1, 1936, in Sofia, Bulgaria, the oldest child of Israel Eleazer and Dora Meyus Levy. Three years later, on his birthday, Mark’s little sister, Matilda was born.
His parents left Bulgaria to escape the ravages of World War II and immigrated to Israel after its founding in 1948.
Mark served faithfully in the Israeli Defense Forces and later came to the United States.
He was married twice, having two beautiful daughters from his first marriage, Dorit and Talia, and a wonderful son, Ron, from his second marriage, but was later divorced.
Mark spoke six languages fluently, loved to play cards, particularly poker in Wendover, and was a kind, hardworking man who saw the best in others.
He became a manufacturing engineer and worked to develop defense security products for Zero Manufacturing, eventually coming with the company when they relocated their headquarters to Utah.
Mark retired three different times, his career spanning over 40 years. In the late 1990s, Mark was introduced to Diana Lynn Whiteley. Their friendship blossomed and they became very close companions.
They chose to share their life together. Mark settled in with Diana in Ogden where they have supported each other through thick and thin for nearly 3 decades.
Mark was beloved by his neighbors and friends, and he will be deeply missed by his family, who are all grateful for his influence, kindness and generosity, and stalwart example.
Mark is survived by his children, Dorit Levy, Los Angeles, CA; Talia (Michael) Farbowitz, Teaneck, NJ; and son, Ron (Dacia) Levy, Reno, NV; three grandchildren, Jordan, Emily, and Tyler; and by his sister, Matilda (Avraham) Kasuto. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Private services were held for family and close friends under the care of Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
He was laid to rest at Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd.
Service will be held at a future date
