Marilyn Margot Nielsen passed away on September 3, 2023. She was born to Orson Peter Nielsen and Ada Leona Wilkinson at home in Evanston, WY on May 7, 1941. Her family moved to Ogden when she was in the 5th grade. She graduated from Ogden High School and was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in ward and stake callings. One of her favorite callings was serving in the Primary where she wrote Christmas programs, sharing time stories and as many extra activities as she could plan for the Primary children. Many children were blessed by her love and attention both in her professional life and her church service.
Marilyn always wanted to be a wife and mother and even though that did not come to be, she was able to love and mother hundreds of children. She served two missions with her best friend, Barbara. She always loved the youth of the church and her capacity to love grew as she worked with the young men and women serving missions. Her love for them was endless.
Marilyn is survived by her younger brother, David Edwin Nielsen (Diane Cook). She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Kenneth Orson Nielsen (Joyce Nissen), Elvin Wilkinson Nielsen (Retha) and Barbara Leona Nielsen (Glen Pont).
Marilyn is a spiritual giant and will be missed by many on this side of the veil, especially her many nieces and nephews, who she loved unconditionally, but no doubt has been experiencing the best family reunion ever!! Go peacefully with love...see you on the other side.
Special thanks to all the angel CNAs who took such great care of her, especially Brooklyn who treated her with love, kindness and dignity.
