Marie Hughes, 64, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 9th, 2021, surrounded by her family. Marie was born in Sweetwater, Wyoming to Donald & Twila Hughes, the third of their four children.

She grew up in Layton, Utah graduating from Layton High in 1976. Marie was a gifted singer who enjoyed music. She loved animals and had many pet cats and dogs over the years. She was also a talented crocheter and a lover of art and books.

Marie was a beloved daughter, sister, and aunt, who always helped care for family members, especially her mother, nieces, and nephews. She made friends wherever she went and cherished the memory of teachers, neighbors, church leaders, and others who loved and supported over the years.

Marie is survived by her mother, Twila Wilson Hughes; siblings, Steven Hughes & Jeanne (Mark) Joseph; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Hughes; brother and sister-in-law; Milton & Sara Tonci Hughes; sister-in-law, Alicia Higuera Hughes; and grandnephew, Saul Dwyer.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 15th at 10:00 a.m. at Lindquist Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.  Friends may visit family from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m.
