Maribel Laurito Croteau
LAYTON a" Maribel Laurito Croteau was pronounced dead in the ICU on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at 12:12pm only 10 days after giving birth to her 24-week premature child Abbey Nichole Laurito Croteau in Labor and Delivery at Davis Hospital. She was born March 17, 1981 in Danao City, Philippines the daughter of Alejandro and Dolores Go-od Laurito. Maribel married David Croteau on January 8, 2007 in Danao City Philippines.
She possessed many talents including an angelic singing voice. Friends and family constantly begged her to perform and she obliged them even competing in local singing contests. She also enjoyed designing her own greeting cards and scrapbooking to show off the wonderful pictures she would capture. Maribel was also an accomplished cook and loved to please others with her culinary skills, creating traditional Philippine dishes for friends and family (everyone loved her sticky rice). Maribel moved to Utah in August 2009 from Pearl City, Hawaii and became a U.S. citizen on September 28, 2011. Maribel had a special way of touching everyone she met. Her smile was infectious and brought joy to those who knew her. She was a devoted servant of God and now is in his presents without sorrow or pain.
Surviving are her devoted and loving husband David and daughter Abbey of Layton, parents Alejandro and Dolores, brother Aldrin Laurito, sister Marilyn Laurito, and twin sister Miraflor Laurito all of Danao City, Philippines.
Mass of the Christian burial will be held Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 10 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 210 South Chapel Street, Layton, Utah. Friends may visit family Friday prior to mass from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd. Prayer service starts at 7 p.m.
