Margurite Stone Baker

Margurite S. Baker, 87, passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2012 in Oakley, Utah. She was born on January 6, 1925 to Herbert Lorenzo and Hester Libby Brown Stone in Ogden.

On August 2, 1946, she married Charles H. Baker in Salt Lake City. They were able to celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary last August.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved her visiting and home teachers and all her friends in the Washington Terrace 5th Ward. Margurite was the State Commander for the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary. She volunteered thousands of hours at the VA Hospital and was a member of the Eagles Aerie.

She was a wonderful candy maker, made beautiful crocheted items and was an amazing seamstress. Margurite was a hard worker. She loved playing bingo. She looked forward to going to Dee''s Restaurant twice a day. Her greatest joy of all was her family. She loved spending time with them.

Margurite is survived by her husband, Charles H. Baker; sons, Clyde (Christina) Baker, Texas and Bruce (Brenda) Baker, Fruit Heights; daughters, Claudia Baker, Kaysville; Bonnie (Jerry) Torres, Kamas; and Leslie (Bryan) Salmans, California; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Glen Stone.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 30, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.

The family would like to thank Applegate Hospice and Elk Meadows Care Center for their wonderful care of mom.
