Margery Ruth (Winn) Nerdin

Our mother, friend, and exemplar Margery Ruth Winn Nerdin, age 77, passed away on January 13, 2023, in Clearfield, Utah. She was born September 21, 1945, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Charles Elwin and Betty Mae Barnett Winn. She married Jerry K. Nerdin on December 15, 1967, in Elko, Nevada; they were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on December 15, 1968.

Marge grew up in Copperton, Utah, with her four siblings. She graduated from Bingham High School in 1963, where she played tennis and was a cheerleader. She attended BYU in 1963 and studied dance. Marge was an adventurous soul and an avid traveler! She jet-setted across the globe and even made it to Australia. She was a big Jazz fan and had season tickets during the Stockton and Malone years. She loved all sports and attended her kids' and grandkids' competitions as often as possible. She was a crime junky and enjoyed detective novels and shows. Marge loved visiting Disneyland and Yellowstone with her family. 

She will be missed but leaves behind a legacy of love that will be carried on and remembered for generations. She will be forever in our hearts!

Marge is survived by her children Jannette Nerdin Newton, John Jerry Nerdin (Christy), Mitchell Winn Nerdin (Stacey), and Madelyn Nerdin Conklin (Miles); her siblings, Chris Maynard (Steve), Jane Robinson (Byron Worthen), Chuck Winn (Marilyn); 19 grandkids, 2 great-grandkids, nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Marge is preceded in death by her parents, spouse, sister Betty, and great-grandchild, Roman Newton.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. Bountiful, Utah. A Viewing will be held on Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. and at 9:30 -10:30 a.m. prior to the services on Wednesday. Interment will follow at Bountiful City Cemetery.
