Mardelle Grace Perkins Wise, 93, passed away peacefully at home on November 18, 2025.
Mardelle was born on October 20, 1932, in Preston, Idaho, to Herman and Lucille Perkins. She married Don Ray Wise on October 23, 1953, in Pocatello, Idaho; their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple.
A devoted and lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Mardelle faithfully served in many callings. The role she cherished most was visiting the sisters in her ward each month, a responsibility that earned her the affectionate nickname "The Sunshine Lady." She was also a proud and active member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.
Mardelle worked for 21 years in the Davis School District as a school lunch worker, serving at Doxey Elementary, Cook Elementary, and South Clearfield Elementary. She was known for her kindness, her gentle humor, and the warmth she shared with countless students over the years.
Family was the great joy of Mardelle's life. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and she found peace and fulfillment in caring for her yard and tending to her flowers. Mardelle was a resident of Clearfield, Utah, for 53 years, where she built a life full of service, love, and quiet strength.
She is survived by her children Kristi (Bart) Thompson of Centerville and Kirt (Sherry) Wise of Roy; five grandchildren-Shani, Shaelee, Jacob, Dave, and Tyler; and six greatgrandchildren-Hayden, Payten, Ella, Nora, Wilder, and Zurielle.
Mardelle was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Don; her parents, Herman and Lucille; her sister, Shirlene; and her brothers, Desmond and Garren.
Mardelle will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her gracious heart, and the sunshine she brought into the lives of all who knew her.
The family would like to thank Canyon Home Health and Hospice, especially Brittany for all the care and compassion shown to Mardelle.
