In Loving Memory of Marcus Troy Balaich (Marc)
Born: 3/18/1973 Passed: 4/4/2026 at 53 years young
Marc was a man of quiet presence with a touch of spicy fire if you will, a gentle soul who moved through life in his own way. An introvert at heart, he often struggled with addiction throughout his adult years, yet those who truly knew him understood there was always more beneath the surface—a tender, deeply loving heart that shone brightest in one-on-one moments with the people he cared about most.
If you knew Marc, you knew he could be a bit socially awkward, but you also knew he had one of the biggest hearts. He expressed himself in ways not everyone saw—through loud music, beautiful poetry, his incredible talent as a home painter, and through the small, meaningful connections he made with those closest to him…
I’m Bailey, Marc’s youngest niece, and I was lucky enough to experience a side of him that many didn’t always get to see. Some of my most cherished memories come from three summers when I was a little girl, living at my grandparents’ house. While everyone else was at work and my older sister was busy with school and her own responsibilities, it was just me, Marc, and the dogs. We’d spend our days on the back porch, passing the time together. I’d make us mac and cheese for lunch, and we’d play countless games of bumper on the old board Grandpa June made years before I was even born. (If you don’t know what bumper is, it’s a lot like the game “Sorry.”)
Out of anyone in my life, I think I spent the most quality time with Marc—and I will forever be grateful for that. Those simple days gave me endless funny stories and a lifetime of memories that I will carry with me always.
Marc had a special love for children. When my son Eli was born, I will never forget the moment Marc held him for the first time. His face lit up—he just beamed with pure joy. In that moment, you could see the happiness that lived in his heart.
I know not everyone got to witness Marc at his best, but I did. I saw his kindness, his humor, his love. And I want you to know that he did have happiness in his heart. He loved each and every one of you deeply—even if he didn’t always know how to show it.
Marc will remain near and dear to me for all my life. His memory, his love, and the quiet moments we shared will stay with me forever. I love you so much, Uncle Marc. Give Maddie Sue some butt pats, and Grandpa June a giant Marc hug and a kiss from me. P.S. hopefully Jesus didn't make you skinny because your signature hug won't be the same.
Rest in peace—until we meet again.
